The basics of intellectual property and protection for university research

Posted by Stephanie Rogers on October 10, 2014 in News, Research

Cecile Klein of the Canadian Intellectual Property Office will be giving a seminar on intellectual property and its implications for academic research. Intellectual property includes patents, copyrights and trademarks. If you are conducting research and publishing your results, you are developing and communicating valuable intellectual property. This seminar will provide you with an overview of IP and the processes for protecting you and your work. This is an interactive discussion so bring your curiosity and your questions.

This seminar is targeted to faculty, staff and graduate students to give you an understanding of how IP affects your work, now and into the future. Plan to attend if you are curious.

Sponsored by the Associate Dean-Research, Faculty of Agriculture and the Dalhousie Industry Liaison and Innovation office.
