HRM Smart Trip: Ride Matching
Find a Dalhousie carpooling buddy by signing up at HRM Smart Trip with your Dalhousie email address if you would like to refine your search to other Dal students or employees only. This online service is offered by the Halifax Regional Municipality, whereby individuals interested in carpooling may voluntarily contact each other via an online bulletin board that protects your privacy.
Dalhousie RideShare carpooling program
Dalhousie has a carpooling program that offers a reserved RideShare parking space to students or employees who carpool to school together. To find out more or to register with the program please call Security Services at 494-6400. See page 6 of Dalhousie's parking regulations 10/11 [PDF - 126 kB] for more information.
The Tiger Shuttle Bus service
The Tiger (Shuttle) Bus service is available to all students, faculty and staff of Dalhousie University, and the Dalhousie Identification Card serves as the boarding pass. There are two Shuttle Buses and each has the capacity for five passengers. Access the Shuttle Bus schedule to see if this service will work for you.
Dalhousie's WeCar car share program
Dalhousie members now have access to two “WeCars". A Chevy Malibu hybrid and a Ford Fiesta which will be parked at the Grad House and in the Dentistry Loop.
How to register for WeCar:
To be eligible for a business membership (ages 18 and up), use your P-Card to fill out an application for a WeCar business membership. The application and membership fee are waived for employees applying for a business membership. Once registered, car-share members will receive a membership card with which they can reserve one of the WeCars by logging in and providing their Banner ID.
Separate personal memberships are also available to Dalhousie employees, as well as to students 21 years and older. Interested Dalhousie members are invited to fill out the application for WeCar personal use. Unlike the business memberships, the personal memberships require a $45 annual membership fee. The hourly rate is $10 per hour.
If you have any questions about the WeCar program or if you encounter any difficulties with your application, please email Juanita Currie at Juanita.Currie@ehi.com.
