Call for Applications: NOVA DOMUS network

Posted by Suman Jha on June 15, 2016 in Research Funding

The "Network Of America and Europa for Doctoral Mobility at Universities" (NOVA DOMUS) network is an academic research exchange project funded by the European Commission through its Erasmus Mundus Key Action 2 program.

NOVA DOMUS aims to facilitate research and education links between participating European and North American universities in the fields of medical sciences, natural sciences, engineering and (new for this round) political sciences, via the funding of exchanges of doctoral students, postdocs and staff between North America and Europe.

The project's fifth and final call for applicants is now open.  Applications are being accepted and assessed on a continuous basis between now and the end of this year.

Dalhousie PhD students and postdoctoral fellows who are citizens of Canada or the US may apply for placements in project fields at selected European partner institutions in the UK, Sweden, Belgium, Italy and Spain.  Funding will cover return travel, insurance, and a monthly living allowance.  Placements vary in duration (6 months for postdocs; 6-10+ months for PhD students); they would need to begin no later than the end of December 2016 and be complete no later than the end of June 2017.

Full details on this program and how Dalhousie students and personnel can apply are available online here.

All potential Dalhousie applicants are asked to contact the International Research Facilitator in Dalhousie Research Services (jennifer.morawiecki@dal.ca) for more information and support in preparing an application.

Deadline: 31 December 2016
