Alexander von Humboldt Foundation: Information Session

Posted by Alana Milner on May 4, 2015 in Events

Early-career researchers, postdoctoral fellows and PhD students are invited to an information session on funding opportunities in Germany from the Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) Foundation. The session will be presented by Dr. Alexander Kuznetsov from the Humboldt Foundation Liaison Office in Canada.

Date: May 21, 2015
Time: 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Location: Room 1007 Rowe Building*

The Foundation provides fully-funded opportunities for young scholars (within 12 years of obtaining a Ph.D.) to visit Germany and carry out research with German scholars for varying lengths of time. Funding is available for scholars in almost all fields, including science, engineering, and arts/social sciences. These opportunities are ideal for a post-doctoral fellowship experience, or a first sabbatical leave for new faculty.

The presentation will outline some of the unique funding opportunities available, and two former Humboldt scholars from Dalhousie (Dr. Bernard Boudreau, Oceanography and Dr. Roman Smirnov, Mathematics & Statistics) will be in attendance, to share their own experiences.

Light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP to irdadmin@dal.ca.

More information about the Foundation can be found at on the AvH Foundation website.
