Funding, News and Announcements

Dr. Martha Crago, Vice-President Research, invites all members of Dalhousie’s research community to join her for a research update and discussion on Friday, December 5 from 1:30 – 2:30pm in Room 1020, Rowe Management Building, 6100 University Avenue. 

Dr. Crago will speak about, and be interested to hear any comments on, the recent Dalhousie Strategic Direction document and the five areas specific to research: 

• Under #2 “Research"
  • Direct and attract resources to priority research areas, with local, national and international importance;
  • Attract and support excellent graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to strengthen the impact of research;
  • Enhance research with state-of-the-art facilities and resources in accordance with the Institutional Framework for the Support of Research. 
• Under #3 “Service”
  • Contribute to cultural and economic vitality, locally and globally, by fostering creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship.
• Under #4 “Partnership and Reputation”
  • Develop a plan to secure and maintain top 200 status.

Dr. Crago will also provide an update on the Canada First Research Excellence Fund and other research initiatives being pursued by Dalhousie and Dalhousie Research Services.
