In my CIHR University Delegate update earlier this week, I had indicated that CIHR would be conducting a research study within the 2014 Foundation Scheme pilot competition to assess the efficiency and reliability of the Stage 1 review as a predictor of success in the Foundation competition. After further consideration and feedback from the University Delegates, CIHR has decided to postpone this study until the 2015 Foundation Scheme pilot competition, recognizing the heightened concerns in the research community during this transition period and not wanting to distract from the implementation of this new program.
