Clinical Trials Competition

Prostate Cancer Canada (PCC) invites grant applications for investigator-initiated clinical trials studying the iatrogenic effects of prostate cancer treatment, with an overall aim of mitigating effects that are unintended and unwanted.

Proposals must have the greatest potential to influence practice or policy in Canada, and must be focused on minimizing the burden of prostate cancer treatment. Proposed trials should include correlative or ancillary studies on biospecimens.

It is expected that each application is multi-institutional but be led by a single Principal Investigator who is accountable for the study. A coordinating centre for the clinical trial must be an integral part of the application.

Only Canadian institutions are eligible for funding. However Canadian contributions to larger international studies are eligible to apply provided it is clearly demonstrated how the findings will change policy or practice in Canada and the funding plan for the entire trial is provided. PCC will only support prostate cancer research. Well-defined prostate cancer-focused sections of large multi-disease studies are eligible.
