New Dalhousie Employees

Before You Arrive

Please review the information below before you start your new job with us. You can also find out what to expect on your first day, your first week, and beyond your first week.

1. As a new Dalhousie employee, you will be issued a Banner ID number (beginning with B00) that is like an employee number. This is used to access Web for Employees (view your pay, benefits, deductions) and for other services and systems.
   
2. Register to attend a campus tour.
   
3. View the three main Dalhousie campuses, including locations for parking, bike racks, food, and other services.
   
4. Dalhousie is a smoke-free and scent-free workplace.
   
5. If you are a member of one of the university’s employee groups, familiarize yourself with your collective agreement and/or handbook.
   
6. Dalhousie supports an inclusive and respectful workplace, which is further discussed on the Office of Human Rights, Equity and Harassment Prevention website.
7. We offer multiple transportation options to promote environmental responsibility, including a Ride Share Program and a WeCar shared transportation program.
