Resources for filling temporary positions
Temporary vacancies provide individuals looking for employment the opportunity to demonstrate their transferable skills, competencies, and qualifications for further positions at Dalhousie.
An employee hired to replace an employee (DPMG, NSGEU Local 77, CCS) who has vacated their position for a temporary period of time (e.g. pregnancy/parental leave) will be considered a temporary employee of the university and not a member of an employee group. An Employment Requisition form is required to staff any temporary vacancy of one month or more in duration.
Temporary Staffing Services
Dalhousie University has a term contract with Supertemp Staffing Services for the provision of temporary staffing services. This is the only agency that can be contacted for temporary staffing purposes. However, departments can staff temporary vacancies using other recruitment means and contacts.
