Supporting academic innovation

Who can apply?

Funding is available for academic innovation and development. The eligible applicants are as follows:

• faculty members
• staff members who direct and manage programs

Students and staff members may apply in partnership with one or both of the above groups.

What can I use the funding for?

Funding may be requested to support innovative developments in learning, teaching and curricular development.

How are applications assessed?

Applications are assessed based on the following criteria:

1. value for student learning and academic engagement
2. fit with departmental and faculty academic plans
3. evaluation and knowledge mobilization plan
4. budget justification

How much funding is available?

Applicants may request from $1,000 to $20,000 per project.

When should projects wrap up?

The time needed for development, implementation and evaluation of each project may range from one to four years from the date of approval.

What is the application deadline?

Applications in this first round will be accepted on a continuous basis from now until March 1, 2013. Early applications are encouraged.
