Casper Requirement

All applicants to Dalhousie University’s Masters of Science in Physiotherapy are required to complete a mandatory 90-minute computer-based test (Casper), to assist with our selection process. Successful completion of Casper is mandatory to maintain admission eligibility. Applicants who do not complete Casper will not be considered. Casper screening dates are available here.

Casper assesses for non-cognitive skills and interpersonal characteristics we believe are important for successful students and graduates of our program and will complement our other applicant screening tools. For more information on the use of Casper for these purposes, please watch this short video.

You will be responsible for securing access to a computer with audio capabilities, a webcam, and a reliable internet connection for completing the Casper test. To see examples of the test structure and scheduling please visit www.takealtus.com . Information can be found under the heading of Canadian Health Sciences. Look for “Dalhousie University Physical Therapy”.

For our admissions, applicants Casper score will be combined with their GPA in a ratio of 75% : 25% respectively.

NOTE: When you sign up for TakeCasper you will also have access to the Altus Suite - a multi-part assessment tool to help aid you through the admissions cycle. Our program will NOT be requiring our applicants to complete the other assessment tools however you may find them to be a helpful resource. You can learn more at www.takealtus.com.
