Adding Classes

To register for classes,
login to Dal Online and follow this path:
Registration > Add/Drop Classes > Select Term > Submit

You'll arrive at the Add/Drop Classes screen:

How to add a class

In the entry fields at the bottom of the screen, enter the Course Reference Numbers (CRN) for the classes in which you wish to register, then click Submit Changes. CRNs are listed on the Academic Timetable.
The classes you've chosen will be listed on the screen under the Current Schedule heading.

Wait lists

If a class is full, you'll receive an error message after trying to register for it. If there is space available on the wait list, there will be an option on the left of this error message for you to add yourself to the wait list for this class.

To get your name on a wait list:

Select WtList from the drop-down menu and select Submit again. The class will appear in your Current Schedule section of the Add/Drop Classes page, with a Wait Listed status, but the class won't appear on your Schedule by Day & Time page until you are actually registered for the class.

Keep checking your registration status page to see if permission has been granted. Once you've received permission, you have three days to register. To register for a class after you've received permission, you will need to first drop the class and then add it again as per the instructions above for adding classes.

For more detailed instructions, see Dal Online's Help.

Need to add a class after the registration deadline has passed?

Once the deadline to add classes has passed, you will need to use a Class Add/Drop Form to register for classes. Fill out the form with the classes you want to add, and take it to the professor(s) of the class(es) to approve. Once you have their signatures of approval on the form, take it to the Registrar's Office to have the classes added for you. Please contact Student Accounts for information on late fees.

You can also use this form to add or drop classes if you have holds on your online registration. There may be some cases where class additions are not permitted due to holds. You can check with the Registrar's Office for more information.
