Oceanography

Faculty of Science

Description: Bachelor of Science (BSc)
With the Atlantic Ocean just metres away from campus, Oceanography and Dalhousie are a natural fit. You’ll explore and study the ocean and its phenomena, including physical oceanography, marine chemistry, marine geology, and marine biology. With the need to know more about the impact of pollution and the effects of marine resource exploitation and global warming, you’re choosing a field of study that is becoming an increasingly important scientific discipline. As the world headquarters for the Ocean Tracking Network, Dalhousie is an international leader in oceanographic study and research. The Department of Oceanography offers undergraduate training as part of combined honours degrees with the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics and Atmospheric Science.
