Come take a tour of our vibrant campus and see for yourself what life at Dal is all about.
The Tour
Join us for an hour and 15 minute walking tour of Studley Campus (our primary undergraduate campus). This will give you the opportunity to explore Dalhousie with a current student as your guide. As part of your visit, you'll see a residence room, as well as our academic and administrative buildings, including classrooms, athletic facilities, and labs. On weekdays an Assistant Registrar will be on hand following the tour to answer any additional questions you may have. You will be offered an Access Pass which will allow you to visit Dalplex (our primary athletic facility), grant you a meal on us in a residence dining hall, and also give you 10% off Dal branded merchandise at the bookstore.
Public Tour Requests
Step 1: Review the Campus Tours Calendar and choose your preferred date to visit *.
Step 2: Take a look at our Personalized Tour Options and determine if you'd like to make any additional requests. (Personalized options are available weekdays only.)
Step 3: Make your tours request - this should be done at least one week in advance (5 business days). You may do so in one of the following two ways:
- Phone - call 902.494.2587
- Email - send a message to campus.tours@dal.ca.
Be sure to include the following details in your request: student's name, program of interest, intended university start date, current educational institution, grade or level of education, hometown, home phone number, and a number where you can be reached in Halifax (if available).
Step 4: Wait for confirmation of your booking. This should be completed within 2 business days of your request being recieved.
* Please Note: If you do not see a tour that suits your schedule, please contact us directly and we will do our best to accomodate you. We will also do our best to make accomodations on shorter notice if necessary.

- Visiting Halifax
Halifax is a dynamic city of about 400, 000 people–we’re proud to have been named the “Hippest Little City in North America” by Harper’s Bazaar Magazine. Dalhousie is located in the south end of Halifax, about a half hour drive from the airport, and a 15 minute walk to downtown - close to great shopping, restaurants, entertainment and hotels. Getting to campus
- Driving directions - Using our interactive campus map, select the "Driving Directions" tab along the top
- Airport shuttle - If you are arriving by air, Airporter Inc. provides shuttle service from the Halifax Robert L. Stanfield International Airport to Halifax hotels
- Airport Taxi - Most taxi companies servicing the airport charge a flat rate of $60 to travel to the city
- Metro Transit - If you live in the Halifax area, check out bus schedules and route maps
Where to stay
- On-Campus Accomodations are available during the summer months (from mid May to mid August)
