Dal and the Community
Location, location, collaboration
From our shared community with neighbours in Halifax and the Truro area and our distributed medical education program in New Brunswick to our partnerships and connections across the country and the world, we value the collaborations that strengthen our many communities.
“Our students are always asking to do something for the community. They’re very outgoing, community-based people.”
– Dr. Ferne Kraglund, assistant professor, Dentistry
Dalhousie welcomes the world to our communities
Our students consider Halifax, Truro, or Saint John home, at least for a while. Students come from all around the world to study at Dal in these warm and engaging communities.
Making a positive impact locally, nationally and globally
From our economic contribution and the potential of our research to the eagerness of Dal's student volunteers, Dalhousie is proud to make a positive impact in our communities.
Taking our community responsibilities seriously
We share responsibility for inspiring a respectful and cooperative community experience that extends to our neighbours. This includes creating the Dalhousie University Community Committee to enhance the relationship between the university and the community on opportunities and issues of mutual concern.
